Full-Time Pharmacy Manager, Barriere, BC

Barriere IDA Pharmacy has been proudly serving Barriere and the surrounding North Thompson area since 1982. Our goal is to provide our patients with all their pharmacy needs including Custom Compounding, Compliance Pill Packaging, Home Health Care and Medical Supplies.

This location is open 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday. The pharmacy manager does not work evenings, weekends or holidays. The pharmacy is operated via TelePharmacy on weekends.

We offer a positive team environment and being in a smaller community allows you to easily collaborate with physicians in the area. Our pharmacy has long-term, well-trained assistants as well as an exceptional Registered Technician. The manager would be responsible for supervising the pharmacy staff only, as the front store has its own management team.

Just a short commute to Kamloops, you can enjoy your evenings and weekends at many nearby lakes, hike or camp at one of our many provincial parks or spend time during the winter months up at Sun Peaks Ski Resort.

We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience level, a comprehensive benefits package including life insurance and disability insurance, relocation allowance, and coverage of your pharmacy dues. We are an independent pharmacy so compensation is always negotiable and will be based on experience level of the successful candidate.

As the Pharmacy Manager you will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy including being in compliance with all bylaws of the College of Pharmacists of B.C. The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for the following:

  • Direct supervision of the pharmacy staff
  • Responsible for managing the performance of the pharmacy staff
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operations and profitability of the pharmacy
  • Completing medication reviews, vaccines administration and other clinical services when appropriate
  • Working with the management team to identify strategies in maintaining the current business operations and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Managing adequate inventory levels
  • Preparation of reports for the management team

The successful candidate will have:

  • A license to be a practicing pharmacist in the province of British Columbia
  • Management skills and the ability to motivate others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Floating Pharmacist, Shuswap region, BC

This position allows you to travel around our beautiful province with your hotel paid for and a higher hourly wage. Floating pharmacists gain the experience of working at multiple workplaces and get to help a lot of people (coworkers and patients alike)! The relationships you form with the pharmacy staff you interact with will benefit you for the rest of your career.

Some choose to do this position for a couple years to save money for a home downpayment while exploring BC and finding out where you want to settle down. Our pharmacy staff don’t work late evenings, and we’re closed all Sundays and holidays. Enjoy your evenings and weekends at the lake, camping in provincial parks, and skiing in the winter.

The work schedule for floating pharmacists is extremely flexible, for example:

  • Work 1 week, off 1 week
  • Work 1 week, off 3 weeks
  • Work 3 days weekly

Our busier pharmacies have daily pharmacist overlap from Monday to Friday and we DO NOT impose any quotas for clinical services upon our pharmacists.
